S.E.N and Inclusion at Thomas Willingale
The S.E.N Department caters for children with special needs.
The school identifies children with special needs at an early age. In line with the Code of Practice, 2014 we have a graduated response to our provision for children who have additional needs. This is detailed in the link below.
Usually the teachers will identify when a child needs extra support but sometimes a child may be receiving support before they start school. If you have any concerns, questions or information relating to your child and the need for additional support, it is vital for the child’s sake that there are good communications between home and school.
Parents are expected to participate in their child’s learning programme.
The children’s progress is monitored on a weekly basis and their targets are adjusted accordingly.
Parents will be invited to review their child’s provision with the class teacher or inclusion manager (SENCo), Miss L. Ford, on a termly basis. From September 2014, all schools are required to share their School Offer with regard to provision for SEN on their school website. The links below detail our school’s offer.
