Art Action Plan 2025-26

In art, we use the Chris Quigley objectives to plan and assess the children.

Our lessons are cross-curricular and often reflect what we are studying in history, geography and DT although we also have stand-a-lone lessons too. Lessons are carefully structured across the school to support understanding and retention. We use quizzes to check understanding in each year group.

  • Year 6 - The Highwayman

  • Year 5 - Portrait of Queen Victoria

  • Year 4 - Sculpture of the Eiffel Tower

  • Year 4 - Sculpture of The Houses of Parliament

  • Year 4 - Painting of the Pyramids

  • Year 3 - Replicating the work of Jocelyn Longdon, a Fair Trade artist.

  • Year 2 - Aboriginal Art

  • Year 2 - Collage of the Titanic

  • Year 2 - Silhouettes of The Great Fire of London

  • Year 1 - Weather Paintings

  • Reception - self portraits

  • Reception - painting circles
