At Thomas Willingale School and Nursery, we are passionate about protecting our planet and preparing our children to become responsible global citizens. We recognise the importance of taking meaningful action against climate change and are committed to making sustainable choices across our school community.
That’s why we are proud to be working with Let’s Go Zero, a national campaign uniting schools working towards becoming zero carbon. Together, we are taking practical steps to reduce our environmental impact – from cutting energy use and minimising waste, to promoting greener travel and embedding sustainability into our curriculum.
By working alongside Let’s Go Zero, we are empowering our pupils to understand the challenges of climate change and inspiring them to take positive action both in school and at home. Our goal is clear: to create a greener, cleaner future for our children and generations to come.

Thomas Willingale School & Nursery is proud to be helping pave the way towards a greener future through our investment in renewable energy.
In June 2026, we installed 150 solar panels across the school site, creating a 69 kWp solar energy system. This significant investment will help reduce our carbon footprint, lower energy costs, and support our commitment to environmental sustainability.
The system is predicted to save approximately 273 tonnes of CO₂ over the next 25 years, making a meaningful contribution to protecting the environment for future generations.
As a member of the Solar for Schools International Community, we are excited to use our solar installation not only to generate clean energy but also as a valuable learning opportunity for our pupils, helping them understand renewable energy and the importance of caring for our planet.
Together, we are powering a brighter, greener future for Thomas Willingale School & Nursery.
