Immersive learning

Immersive learning is at the heart of school life and is one of the ways we capture imaginations, spark curiosity and create a real buzz for learning across the whole school. Our children don’t just learn about topics – they live them. From a Stone Age man setting up camp on the school field, to space domes arriving with mysterious alien visitors, and even friendly intruders called Hoebles who helped pupils explore climate change and environmental responsibility, these whole-school experiences create excitement, shared stories and unforgettable learning moments. We are proud to work with the inspiring theatre company Punchdrunk, who have trained our teachers to design and deliver rich, imaginative projects that place children at the centre of the story. Our youngest learners in Reception delight in The Wishing Cupboard, while Year 2 are immersed in A Small Tale, building confidence, creativity and voice. Awe and wonder are always the goal – and the result is high motivation, deeper engagement and a genuine love of learning, particularly when it comes to developing writing with purpose and excitement.
