Jackie Burgess

I joined Thomas Willingale School in 2002 as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA). Shortly afterwards, I was given the opportunity to teach in Year 6 alongside the Headteacher at the time. Since then, I have gained extensive teaching experience across all year groups and classes within Key Stage 2. Throughout my career, I have taken on a variety of leadership responsibilities, including RE Coordinator, Maths Coordinator, Computing Lead, and Phase Leader for Upper Key Stage 2, Lower Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 1. I have also covered the role of Inclusion Manager during Mrs Ford Richard’s maternity leave.

I currently hold the positions of Assistant Headteacher and Inclusion Manager, while also supporting Early Career Teachers as they develop their skills and confidence in the profession.

As the Staff Representative on the Governing Body, I act as a vital link between school staff and the governors, helping to ensure effective communication and collaboration. In my role as Inclusion Manager, I also provide governors with regular updates on Special Educational Needs (SEN) and Pupil Premium, keeping them informed of key developments and priorities in these areas.
