Janine Ashwell

My daughter attends Thomas Willingale School and ever since my first visit to the school over 5 years ago, meeting Miss Philips and other members of the school leadership team, I knew it was a special place. My daughter is now in year 6 and has flourished with the help of Thomas Willingale School.

I have always had a strong interest in supporting the school, helping to provide the children with the best possible school experience. Before I joined the governing body, I was Head of the PTA, which I took over with the purpose of raising funds for the school whilst adding a bit of extra fun for the children along the way.

Professionally, I have over 25 years’ experience in HR. My experience within this discipline enables me to offer my knowledge in several areas including employee relations, policies & procedures, employment law and recruitment. I feel my input helps ensure that decisions are made in the best interests of all the children.

Being a parent governor is a role I am privileged to hold, and I value the fact that I am allowed to contribute to the school community, act as a voice for the parents and help all the children achieve their full potential in a safe and supportive environment. I am passionate about primary education years being fun, raising aspirations and ensuring every child feels valued and included.
