RUGBY WORLD CUP DAY

Dear Parent/Carer,

This Friday, 18th September 2015, Rugby World Cup kicks off when the hosts, England play Fiji at Twickenham stadium. A massive day for rugby and the hosts, who are hoping to replicate their win in 2003 and lift the Webb Ellis Trophy!

To mark this exciting occasion we are going to have a World Cup Rugby day at school.

This will be a non- school uniform event, no money required! . All we ask is the children choose a country they would like to support (participating countries listed below) for the duration of the World Cup tournament, the final is on Saturday 31st October 2015.

On Friday they can wear a rugby t shirt or other top of that teams colour. Alternatively they can draw or print a flag for their chosen country and pin it to any top.

Please do not specifically buy a rugby, or any other shirt for the day!

We will start the day with a World Cup assembly, and then each class will get the chance to play tag rugby games with our sports coach.

I will run short matches at lunchtime for any year 5/6 children that would like to take part and can get a team together. (They will need to come and see me by Wednesday if they wish to take part.)

There are 20 countries taking part in the Rugby World Cup 2015 – they are:
