P.E vision and intent at TWS

PE VISION AND INTENT STATEMENT

Children at TWS will experience a high-quality, broad and balanced physical education curriculum, with daily physical activity opportunities throughout Key Stage 2, Key Stage 1 and the Foundation Stage that meets the needs of all pupils.  Not only will this inspire pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities, but instils ideals for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health, physical fitness and wellbeing.

Opportunities are given to all pupils to compete in inter-school sports and other activities.  This helps build character and embeds values such as fairness, humility, integrity and respect.

Our TWS PE curriculum is designed so that it builds on children's prior learning, provides enriching experiences, and allows the children to develop teamwork, leadership, resilience and independence skills.  Knowledge and participation in good quality physical education, develops physical literacy, physical development and knowledge of the body in action, as well as supporting mental wellbeing and instils  awareness in the children of the importance of being healthy as part of an active lifestyle.
